My Startling Revelation!

It was not quite two months ago, around the end of November 2005, that for my first time ever in business I began to lose interest. I wasn't motivated to work, wasn't passionate about what I was doing and really was just going through the motions day after day, doing enough to just get by.

It was HORRIBLE!

Nothing I did pulled myself out of the funk I was in. It was extremely frustrating and I was becoming miserable.

Then one day in January I was talking to a friend of mine. He was extremely excited about his business he was launching and the things he was saying were very similar to probably the best article I ever wrote.

When I got off the phone I pulled up that letter and started to read it.

About half way through it hit me.

My entire life (starting when I was a young kid) my Core Desire (that's what Jack Zufelt calls it), my passion that drove me in life was the following.

I grew up on a farm in a small town in Iowa. Farming was never a good profession to be in and my parents always struggled financially.

While growing up I saw what not having enough money and constant financial struggle did... we lived a life of always "wanting" but never getting, it brought on my parents divorce, them losing the farm, and all of us forced to only do the things we could afford, not the things we wanted to do.

And I knew since I was a kid my mission, my Core Desire, was to never have that for myself and my family when I got older. I knew I wanted to have a successful business and be financially free, I knew why I wanted it and I was on a mission to make it happen.

I had a lot of hidden barriers to overcome on the way, I struggled a lot, but I eventually made it.

Now, back to today, I never have to worry about paying the bills, when one arrives I write a check the same day. I always have more money than I need in the bank. I can buy and do the things I want when I want to. I live in an amazing house and drive a brand new car that costs more than most people's house. Life is good.

And that was the reason why back in November I completely lost interest.

I no longer had a Core Desire!

My Core Desire was fulfilled but was never replaced with a new one. Subconsciously I knew this but consciously I did not until the moment I was reading that article I mentioned.

I became intensely clear at that moment how critical a Core Desire is in life. With one you live a life full of purpose and passion, without one you live a life of "just getting by".

It touched me deeply and still does to think so many people in this world live their entire life that way. A life devoid of a passionate purpose, one of just getting by, going through the motions day after day. I could barely stand 2 months living life that way, I couldn't imagine 2, 20 or 50 years of it.

At that moment I knew what my new Core Desire for my life was and the purpose of this "10 in 90 Project".

No longer is my motivation to have a financially secure life, I already have that.

Now its about making a difference in this world and with the people, meaning you, who trust in me. To give back.

That is what this is all about, me finding my new Core Desire which is to help you live a life full of purpose and make a substantial financial difference in your life so you too will become financially free.

What Is This Worth?

One of the downsides of doing something for free is the tendency of people to not value the information.

Hopefully, by now, you understand why I am doing it. I have been sharing this story for the past 2 months with every person who has asked me "What are you up to." In the beginning it was difficult because I would get very emotional about it, it means so much to me.

But what would this cost if I didn't do it for free?

First, I estimate I will be spending at a minimum of 20 hours a week for the next 13 weeks on Project 10 in 90. Plus the 100 hours I have already put into it. That's 360 hours of my time.

At a conservative $250 an hour, that's $90,000 worth of my time.
